Directions to Whittier Field:

Travel west on Rosemont Ave. for 1.2 miles (past Ft. Detrick) and turn left onto Tuscanney Drive (turn between the CVS and BP station). Proceed 0.6 mile to fields on the right.

From Rt. 495:

From Rt. 495 take Rt. 270 north approx. 25 miles. Rt. 270 turns into Rt. 15 at Frederick. Stay on Rt. 15 north and take the Rosemont Avenue exit (approx. 1 mile from 1st Frederick exit). Bear right off the exit (west) at traffic light and go approx. 3 miles down Rosemont and turn left onto Tuscanney Drive (turn between the CVS and BP station). Proceed 0.6 mile to fields on the right.

Directions to Monarch Ridge/Emerald Farm Field:

If you are coming from Middletown, Myersville and Boonsboro, from Alt 40, you can turn right onto Mount Philip Road (traffic light after you pass the Weis shopping center). Turn left onto Butterfly Lane, then right onto Hunting Ridge Drive. At the end of Hunting Ridge is Swallowtail and the park.

Coming from Mount Airy and New Market (and Spring Ridge), you can either follow the directions from Route 15, or continue on I70W and take the first exit as you start up Braddock Mountain which is Alt 40. Turn right as you exit. Turn right onto Mount Philip Road (traffic light after you pass the Weis shopping center). Turn left onto Butterfly Lane, then right onto Hunting Ridge Drive. At the end of Hunting Ridge is Swallowtail and the park.

For those coming from Walkersville and Thurmont, it is best to follow the directions from Route 15.

Directions to Monarch Ridge Park from Route 15:

Take the Route 40W exit. Turn left onto McCain Drive. Turn right onto Hillcrest Drive. Cross Butterfly Lane, Hillcrest turns into Hunting Ridge Drive. Turn right onto Swallowtail Drive. Park is on the left.
